Our commitment
Livin is committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and continuously work to improve the experience for all users.
California residents: Livin operates in California and is committed to compliance with the Unruh Civil Rights Act, which incorporates federal ADA accessibility standards.
What we’ve built in
The following features are implemented across chooselivin.com:
- Keyboard navigation — All interactive elements (quiz flows, search, filters, forms) are reachable and operable via keyboard alone.
- Skip to main content — A visible skip link is the first focusable element on every page so keyboard users can bypass repeated navigation.
- Screen reader support — Semantic HTML landmarks, ARIA labels, and descriptive roles are used throughout. Images include meaningful alt text.
- Reduced motion — All animations and auto-playing media respect the prefers-reduced-motion system setting.
- User zoom — Pinch-to-zoom is never blocked. Our viewport configuration preserves browser and OS zoom settings.
- Form labels — All form inputs have programmatically associated labels or ARIA descriptions.
- Language declaration — The page language is declared (lang="en") so screen readers apply correct pronunciation rules.
- Focus indicators — Visible focus styles are present on all interactive elements for keyboard users.
Known limitations
We are actively working on the following:
- Third-party content — Some embedded third-party tools (session analytics) may not fully conform to WCAG standards. We are evaluating alternatives.
Standards targeted
We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Where we fall short, we treat it as a bug — not a feature request.
